San Diego: Day 1

Last March, I explored the west coast. My first stop was in San Diego- to see my roomroommate (double room because we shared a bedroom in addition to an apartment for 2 YEARS!) Alicia, as well as my other fabulous roommate Gemma. Alicia moved there for grad school in fall of 2015 and I obviously needed to visit.

I arrived late Thursday night, and we took off exploring early Friday morning. Since we did so much, I think I’ll split up my San Diego posts a bit.

Day 1: We ate at Snooze and drank mimosas.

We explored the beautiful Balboa Park, full of botanic gardens, roses, and cacti. Took a stroll around the Spanish Art Village.

We headed up to Cabrillo National Monument to see some AMAZING views of the city and bay. fun tidbit: this is where I bought my national park passport!

We frolicked on SD’s 3 biggest beaches while drinking crazy buzzed coffee.

And finally, we got some champagne from CVS and spent the (cloudy) sunset at the famous Sunset Cliffs.

This day wiped me out. But Alicia was absolutely the most gracious host and made sure we could see as much as possible! And I’m super grateful for that.

Next time- San Diego day 2, full of that big kissing statue, Coronado Island, and La Jolla!
